Carolinas Healthcare, UNC Health To Merge

Carolinas Healthcare System (Carolinas Healthcare) and UNC Health Care signed a letter of intent to merge by the end of 2017. The new entity is yet to be named.

The merger's focus will be to increase access to and affordability of care, advancing clinical-care expertise, growing the academic enterprise, and contributing to the region's economy.
