University Of Michigan-Dearborn Opens Autism Center
The University of Michigan-Dearborn recently opened the doors to its new facility, the Beaumont Exceptional Families Autism Center. Â The project was funded via the assistance of a $750,000 grant from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. The state of Michigan has about 50,000 people on the autism spectrum.
Now in operation, the center is offering the following services to students ages 1 through 18:
Preschool program
Autism medical diagnosis
Social work
Occupational, physical, and speech therapies
