Oregon Secretary Of State Report On DHS-Aging & People With Disabilities: Consumer-Employed Provider Program Needs Immediate Action To Ensure In-Home Care Consumers Receive Required Care & Services
On October 15, 2017, Oregon's Secretary of State (SoS) released this report on the state's Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) program. The SoS reviewed the DHS ADP self-directed services program called the Consumer-Employed Provider (CEP) program. The audit found that ADP had not ensured that CEP participants were able and willing to manage their employed caregivers, and that ADP case workers were not adequately overseeing the program. The SoS recommended that ADP take immediate action to correct gaps in program design and oversight in order to improve the safety and well-being of CEP participants . . .
