Anthem Acquires HealthSun

Anthem recently announced that its acquisition of HealthSun is completed. The financial terms of the purchase have not been disclosed at this time.

According to statements from Anthem leadership, the company anticipates the acquisition will offer more integrated delivery systems to its consumers in Florida. It is estimated that about 40,000 members from the Miami area will be added to Anthem’s Medicare and Medicaid consumer base as a result of the purchase. As part of the purchase terms, HealthSun will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anthem.
