Humana Officially Leaves America’s Health Insurance Plans

Humana recently confirmed that it has terminated its membership in America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). While the membership was officially ended towards the end of 2017, statements from the insurer claim that Humana has not been an active participant in AHIP since much earlier in that year.

Statements from AHIP have categorized Humana’s move as a business decision, rather than based off of policy. Despite the loss of Humana, however, AHIP has grown by 12 members since 2017, in addition to experiencing revenue increases.
