Gov. Christie Signs Law Requiring Inspections At Group Homes For Developmentally Disabled

Gov. Chris Christie recently signed a law that will help protect disabled residents in group homes by requiring the state to carry out random visits annually. The law also requires that families of the consumers are notified if there are any injuries or abuse.

The law now requires the Department of Human Services to make at least two unannounced visits to group homes and requires the notification of injury or incident within two hours.
