Purdue Pharma Launches New Study With Geisinger To Study Wearables
It was recently announced that Purdue Pharma will sponsor a one-year study with Geisinger Health System. Researchers plan to enroll around 240 consumers suffering from chronic pain that receive treatment at Giesinger’s specialty pain clinic.
Participants will use an Apple Watch to collect and transmit data on pain, physical activity, sleep quality, medicine use and heart rate. The data will then be fed into a provider dashboard and integrated with Geisinger’s EHR platform, where physicians can provide coaching.
