NHS England Announces Consultation On Accountable Care Organization Contracts
National Health Service (NHS) England recently announced it will be launching a consultation on the contracting arrangements for accountable care organizations (ACOs). The consultation is part of an effort by NHS to end the fragmented ways in which care is provided to consumers.
The consultation will set out how an ACO contract fits within the NHS as a whole, addressing how the existing statutory duties of NHS commissioners and providers would be performed under it, and will set out how public accountability and consumer choice would be preserved.
