Mercy Health Network Acquires Elkader Hospital

Mercy Health Network (Mercy) recently announced it will be acquiring Central Community Hospital in Elkader, Iowa. Completion of the acquisition is expected on the first of July 2018.

The announcement comes after a 17 year management relationship between the health network and the hospital, as well as over a year of talks relating to the acquisition between the two entities. As a rural health provider organizations, the purchase offers financial stability to Central Community Hospital, as well as the opportunity to bring more services and enhanced access to consumers.
