City ‘Safe Stations’ Open For Opioid Addiction Treatment

The city of Providence, Rhode Island recently launched a program that benefits individuals battling opioid addiction. The program provides “safe stations” at the city’s 12 fire houses, providing a connection to recovery centers for those battling addiction disorder.

As part of the program, individuals struggling with opioid addiction are able to receive medical evaluations at fire stations, where they will then be referred to The Providence Center’s Anchor Recovery program, when appropriate.
