Center For Human Services Transitions From Sheltered Workshop To Community Employment
The Center for Human Services (CHS) recently announced it is closing its sheltered workshop for the summer in order to fully transition to the community employment model. The shift represents a shift away from providing employment at the center’s site and more toward helping people gain employment with other businesses in the area.
The transition represents a shift on the national level to assist people with intellectual and developmental disabilities find employment within their local communities. The center will officially close its doors on June 30, citing the fact that the workshop now only has 15 people attending it . . .
