Helen Ross McNabb Center Opens Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center
The Helen Ross McNabb Center recently opened a new Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center in Knox County, Tennessee. The center will provide treatment as an alternative to jail for individuals convicted of nonviolent, misdemeanor crimes.
As opposed to being imprisoned, people will be provided with rehabilitation classes for mental health or addiction disorders. Upon completion of the classes, individuals will be releasedâunder supervisionâfrom the center. Leaders in the Knoxville area have previously cited the need for pre-arrest diversion services in the community.
