Proposed Rule: Assistance To States For The Education Of Children With Disabilities; Preschool Grants For Children With Disabilities

The proposed rule was issued on February 27, 2018, by the United States Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS). The rule proposes a delay to OSERS enforcement of a rule issued in late December 2016 and slated to go into effect on July 1, 2018, to address "significant disproportionality" in how schools identify students with disabilities. OSERS seeks to delay enforcement for two years to July 1, 2020 for school-age children, and to delay the rule until July 1, 2022 for pre-school-age children . . .
