New Prison Reentry Program Seeks To Transform Lives
The Northeast Delta Human Services Authority (NE Delta HSA) and Goodwill Industries of NELA recently partnered to create the Louisiana Reentry program, or LA-Re. LA-Re is an ex-offender re-entry program that seeks to address the socioeconomic issues that increase recidivism rates among the formerly incarcerated.
The goal of the program is to give nonviolent, mentally ill offenders with addiction disorder the opportunity to receive help post-incarceration in order to build and maintain a positive social role within their community.
