March 1, 2010 The Massachusetts Child Psychiatry Access Project (MCPAP) improved the ability of private practice pediatric primary care clinicians (PCCs) to meet the needs of their patients with psychiatric or emotional disorders. The MCPAP, which started July 1, 2005, provided 1,341 PCCs in 353 practices with telephone access to six regional consultation teams that offered psychiatry expertise, education, and referral assistance at no cost to the PCC and was intended for all children, regardless of their insurance status.
