Catholic Charities In Twin Cities To End Refugee Resettlement Programs
Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis (Catholic Charities) recently announced that it is shifting the focus of its efforts to programs that address homelessness and helping at-risk children. As part of this shift, the program will be discontinuing its refugee resettlement programs.
According to statements from the organization’s CEO, Catholic Charities felt that this move was necessary in being able to adept and respond to new needs of the community. Additionally, the organization says it utilized data analysis and research in deciding to go through with the changes. Fewer than 950 refugees arrived in Minnesota last year . . .
