New Jersey Department of Children and Families Response to Budget Questions From the Office of Legislative Services About the Fiscal Year 2010-2011 Budget
March 15, 2010 The New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services (DYFS) is closing its residential treatment centers in the cities of Vineland and Ewing by July 1, 2011. The closures were announced on January 11, 2011 by DYFS commissioner Allison Blake. Ms. Blake said the centers are no longer needed because there are significant reductions in out-of-home placement for children with intensive behavioral needs and that the children are best served at home with their parents.
