UnitedHealthcare Plans To Purchase Metairie-Based Peoples Health

Health care company UnitedHealthcare recently announced it has entered an agreement to acquire Matairie, Louisiana-based Peoples Health. Terms of the purchase have not been disclosed.

According to statements from Peoples Health leadership, the company anticipates being acquired by UnitedHealthcare will help preserve its foundation as a local company to its area, as well as create greater company stability and enhance its offerings. Peoples Health, which employs about 850 individuals, does not anticipate that any of its 63,000 beneficiaries will experience any change to their current health plans.
