May 17, 2010 The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has recently been informed by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) of fraud and abuse taking place in eight Head Start programs. HHS will be suspending and terminating grantees who took part in fraudulent actions along with conducting unannounced visits to Head Start centers.
