On August 23, 2018, the Maine Supreme Judicial Court ruled that the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) must implement the state's voter-mandated Medicaid expansion. In November 2017, Maine voters approved a ballot measure to expand Medicaid eligibility to non-disabled adults ages 18 to 64 whose income is below 138% of the federal poverty limit.
