Baylor Scott & White Health, Memorial Hermann Announce Merger

Baylor Scott & White Health and Memorial Hermann Health System recently announced plans to merge. The two Texas-based entities are the largest non-profit hospital chains in Dallas and Houston.

The newly formed $14 billion health care system will include 68 hospital campuses, more than 1,100 care delivery sites, and more than 70,000 employees throughout 30 counties. Under the merger, leadership will consolidate to help combat the fact that Texas has the highest share of consumers in the country without health insurance.
