Blue Cross Blue Shield Of Louisiana Acquires Vantage Health Plan

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana (BCBS of Louisiana) recently announced it has agreed to acquire majority ownership of health insurance company Vantage Health Plan (Vantage). Financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed at this time.

Under the purchase, BCBS of Louisiana will absorb Vantage’s more than 45,000 members and 15,000-plus contracts. According to statements from Vantage leadership, the acquisition will allow the organization to expand outside of the state of Louisiana, opening the door for the possibility to creating new jobs.
