Proposed Rule: Medicaid Program; Medicaid & Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) Managed Care

This document is a proposed rule issued on November 14, 2018 by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Via this proposed rule, CMS seeks to ease and streamline the managed care regulatory framework for Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Plan (CHIP). The proposed rule modifies the 2016 managed care final rule. Many states and stakeholders told CMS that the 2016 rule has provisions that are unnecessarily prescriptive and believe that the provisions add unnecessary costs and administrative burden to state Medicaid programs without contributing to the improvement of health outcomes . . .
