July 20, 2010 The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering announced the availability of grant funding for specialized bioengineering partnerships. A project proposed by  General Electric Global Research and the Mayo Clinic was awarded a five-year $5.7 million grant to research design and application issues involved in the use of a head-only MRI brain scanner for neurological and psychiatric disorders.
