July 28, 2010 On July 28, 2010, federal judge William Hart issued comments on the lawsuit against for-profit nursing home operators. The nursing home operators were alleged to have used scare tactics to persuade psychiatric patients to stay in the facilities instead of moving into supportive community housing. The nursing home operators recently distributed "information sheets" to Institutions for Mental Diseases residents and their families, which Judge Hart ordered the facilities stop distributing.
