Order in United States v. Arizona
July 28, 2010 On July 28, 2010, a judge ruled on United States v. Arizona, granting temporary injunction against parts of a new Arizona immigration law that required law enforcement to arrest people suspected of being illegal immigrants. The injunction blocked police from upholding the law's requirement that they determine the status of people suspected to be illegal immigrants, it also eliminated the requirement that people carry immigration documents; and two other provisions that were ruled unconstitutional.
