Johnson & Johnson Acquires Auris Health Robotics For $3.4 Billion
Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Ethicon recently announced it has acquired Auris Health (Auris) robotics for $3.4 billion. The purchase includes Auris’s Monarch platform, the first U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared robotic platform for diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopic procedures.
With the transaction, surgeons will be able to perform endoscopic surgeries more effectively, as they are allowed to execute more difficult procedures. Having acquired robotic surgical technology organization Orthotaxy last year, Johnson & Johnson has now made two more recent acquisitions in the field of health care robotics.
