Oceans Healthcare’s Acquisition Of Gulf Oaks Behavioral Hospital

Oceans Healthcare (Oceans)recently announced it is acquiring the Biloxi, Mississippi-based behavioral health operations of Merit Health Biloxi (Merit). The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2019.

The transaction will include the purchase of Merit’s 45 bed behavioral health hospital, Merit Health Gulf Oaks. This acquisition represents Oceans’ first expansion outside of Louisiana and Texas. The organization had a successful 2018 having expanded programming at nearly half of all its hospitals.
