Peoria, Illinois-based OSF Healthcare (OSF) recently launched a new telemedicine program—the teleneurohospitalist program—that aims to help address a national shortage of neurologists. The new program will allow health care consumers to take part in virtual visits with neurologists—a service that will be particularly useful for individuals living in more remote areas.

The program was initially launched at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois, as well as OSF Healthcare Saint James-John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, Illinois.
