August 24, 2010 This notice from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Service to staff at the Dorothea Dix Hospital regional state psychiatric facility described plans to close the Dix facility to address a budget shortfall. The closure was slated to take place by the end the first half of the fiscal year, which started July 1, 2010.
