Cityblock Raises $65 Million For Technology To Help Low Income Consumers

Brooklyn, New York-based Cityblock recently raised $65 million to help it leverage technology to better serve low-income individuals who have complex medical needs. Cityblock is a startup of Google’s parent company, Alphabet, which seeks to provide health care for lower income populations.

The main component to Cityblock’s technology is its software platform Commons, which links Cityblock’s partners and care provider organizations. Specifically, Commons facilitates communication among health team members who provide medical, behavioral, and social services to Medicare and medicaid beneficiaries in underserved neighborhoods.
