Improvement Strategies for Disability Plan Performance
September 9, 2010 Employers seeking to improve the disability plan performance were advised to focus on musculoskeletal injury claims instead of mental health claims. Following a four- year case study of a large employerÂ’s disability claims, OCI, a disability claims consultant, found that despite the employerÂ’s starting bias that its claims costs were high due to claims for mental health disorders, the bulk of long-term disability claims and costs were due to musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.
