World Alzheimer Report 2010; The Global Economic Impact of Dementia
September 21, 2010 The report, released by Alzheimer's Disease International, assessed global dementia prevalence projections and projected the cost of care through 2030. The world wide cost of care was estimated at $604 billion or one percent of global gross domestic product (GDP) for 2010. The global prevalence of dementia is expected to triple, from 35.6 million people in 2010 to 115.4 million by 2050.
