Virginia House Bill HB 2577 Health Insurance; Coverage For Autism Spectrum Disorder

On March 18, 2019, the Virginia House of Representatives enacted House Bill (HB) 2577 of 2019. HB 2577 expands coverage under private insurance plans for the diagnosis  and treatment of autism spectrum disorder. Under the legislation, coverage is expanded to individuals ages two through age six from January 1, 2012 until January 1, 2016.Coverage is expanded for individuals ages two to ten from January 1, 2016, until January 1, 2020. As of January 1, 2020, health insurance will cover the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder at any age . . .
