North Dakota Senate Bill 2113 To Authorize Electronic Monitoring Of Nursing Facility & Assisted Living Residents

On April 11, 2019, the 66th Legislative Assembly of North Dakota signed Senate Bill (SB) 2113 into law. The bill authorized electronic monitoring of facility residents. "Authorized electronic monitoring" is defined as the placement and use of an authorized electronic monitoring device, by a resident or resident representative, in the resident's room. The bill also establishes a penalty for those who misuse the technology to interfere with a resident's privacy, as well as outlining the proper installation, use, and notification to the resident of the technology's placement . . .
