Prisons & Jails Are North Carolinas New Mental Hospitals
October 12, 2010 The Wake County chapter of the National Alliance of Mental Illness compiled the report to outline its concerns that the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) ongoing reduction to capacity at the state psychiatric hospitals has increased the number of people with mental illness in the state's jails and prisons.
