The Global Aging Preparedness Index
October 14, 2010 The Global Aging Preparedness (GAP) Index was developed by The Center for Strategic and International Studies. The GAP Index assesses how well a cross-section of countries are prepared to care for a growing aging population based on the sustainability of their existing policies for retiree pensions and health care and on the adequacy of retireesÂ’ incomes. The 20 countries were Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
