November 1, 2010 A Superior Court judge for Los Angeles County, California imposed a stay on enforcement of a state law restricting where sex offenders can live. Jessica’s Law, approved by the voters in 2006, prohibits registered sex offenders from living within 2,000 feet of a school, park, or play area.  The stay prevents Los Angeles County police and parole officers from enforcing the restriction.
