November 20, 2010 A 2010 MDS report showed the percentage of residents who received an antipsychotic medication for any reason during the last seven days. The range spans zero days to seven days. The one day designation is used to indicate that the drug was used just once, or that a long-acting medication was used less than weekly. For the third quarter 2010, zero use was reported for 73.8% of nursing home residents and 26.2% of residents took an antipsychotic medication for at least one day. Download the Report . . .
