Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention Proposed Plan for Fiscal Year 2010
December 2, 2009 The Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) proposes funding programs to document and measure the effectiveness of delinquency prevention, intervention, and/or treatment programs to prevent and reduce girls' risky behaviors and criminal offenses. Over the past two decades, the number of girls entering the juvenile justice system has dramatically increased. This trend raised a number of questions for OJJDP, including whether this reflected an increase in girls' delinquency or changes in society's responses to girls' behavior.
