SMI/SED Amendment Request For The Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) Section 1115 Waiver

On June 24, 2019, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration  (FSSA) submitted an amendment request for the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP) Section 1115 waiver for an effective date of January 1, 2020. The request is part of FSSA's goal to ensure a comprehensive continuum of behavioral health services and is intended to improve access to acute care for Medicaid enrollees with SMI and SED. It will also ensure comparable access to institutions for mental diseases for Indiana Medicaid enrollees regardless of delivery system and eliminate the current inconsistency between fee-for-service and managed care . . .
