On January 22, 2020, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics published a report on various demographic characteristics, health care service access and use, and timing of fertility-related milestones among adults aged 18 to 44 who had ever been in foster care compared with those who had never been in foster care. The results showed that adults ever in foster care were more likely to receive public assistance and have Medicaid coverage.
