Michigan Made Capitation Payments To Managed Care Entities After Beneficiaries’ Deaths
Previous audits conducted by the Office of the Inspector General found that a number of states had improperly paid Medicaid managed care organizations capitation payments on behalf of deceased beneficiaries. As a result of these audits, a similar audit of those payments in Michigan was conducted. The objective was to determine whether Michigan made capitation payments on behalf of deceased beneficiaries.
