On March 27, 2020, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published a report on the prevalence of eight-year-old children with autism spectrum disorder. The researchers analyzed data from the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network: an active surveillance system that provides estimates of autism prevalence among children aged 8 years who were located within 11 U.S. states (Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin) during 2016.
