Nebraska DHHS Memo on Reimbursement of Adult Substance Abuse/Mental Health Evaluation & Treatment Services for Individuals Not Eligible for Medicaid & With No Other Insurance
February 15, 2011 On February 15, 2011, the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) clarified a short-term strategy to fund adult substance abuse or mental health evaluation or treatment for uninsured adults not eligible for Medicaid and who are the parents of a child involved with the child welfare or juvenile justice system. After establishing clinical eligibility and that the individual has no other way to pay for services, these individuals will be referred to the Regional Behavioral Health Authority networks, which each have a finite amount of funding from the Division of Behavioral Health.
