Kentucky To Launch State-Based Health Exchange, Likely To Begin Enrollment In 2021

On June 16, 2020, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear filed a letter of intent to launch a state-based health insurance exchange. The exchange is expected to be able to accept enrollments in fall 2021 for the 2022 plan year.

Between 2010 and 2017, the state operated Kynect, a state-based health insurance exchange for people without employer-sponsored health insurance to find individual plans or sign up for Medicaid.
