HHS Action Plan to Reduce Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities, April 2011
April 4, 2011 In November 2010, federal Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius charged HHS with developing a Department-wide action plan for reducing racial and ethnic health disparities. This HHS Disparities Action Plan was developed through a collaborative, Department-wide process that actively engaged all HHS agencies. The action plan emphasizes approaches that are evidence-based, with the goal of achieving a large-scale impact. The action plan was operational across HHS immediately upon release in April 2011.
