April 13, 2011 President Barak Obama's economic growth strategy is intended to reduce the national deficit and nurture private sector job growth. It includes provisions to reduce non-security discretionary spending and health care spending. The health care provisions are focused on preserving health insurance reforms of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, reducing Medicaid and Medicare spending over the next decade, without transforming Medicaid into a block grant style program or privatizing Medicare.
