Virginia 2011-2013 Budget, House Bill 1500
May 1, 2011 The Virginia Department of Medical Assistance (DMAS) is planning to expand Medicaid managed care into the Roanoke and Alleghany regions of the state effective January 1, 2012, and into far southwest Virginia as of July 1, 2012. The Medicaid managed care expansion and a directive that a behavioral health care coordination model be developed were among provisions in Virginias recently signed biennial budget. The budget provision directs the DMAS and the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) to collaborate with the states 40 Community Services Boards (CSBs) to seek input from stakeholders . . .
