Indiana DCS Final Rule: Rate Setting for Residential Treatment Service Providers
May 25, 2011 The Indiana Division of Child Services (DCS) has unbundled its per diem reimbursement rates for residential child welfare services; the new cost-based rate system carves out behavioral health services from the base rate. Beginning January 1, 2012, residential treatment services provider organizations licensed by DCS as child caring institutions, group homes, or private secure facilities will receive a base rate that includes a maintenance payment, an administrative payment, and payment for costs not eligible for federal Title IV-E reimbursement, such as on-site nursing staff or transportation to medical appointments for the child.
